Maggie
O’Sullivan was born on July 20th, 1951 to southern Irish parents.
Her mother was from Clara, County Offaly and her father from Skibbereen, West
Cork. They met and married in England. O’Sullivan has
published several books of poetry and has performed and published her work
nationally and internationally
since the late 1970s. From 1973 to 1988, she worked for BBC-TV in London on
arts documentary films. Shortly after moving to London in 1970,
she met the painter Antony Cook, who became her life partner. He died in April
2005.
In 1988 she moved to the Pennines outside
Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, where she has continued to develop has a poet,
artist, editor, lecturer, and tutor.
